Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books I’m Looking Forward To For The First Half Of 2017

Hosted by The Broke and the Bookish

Hey there blogosphere! How’re things? Welcome back to another weekly instalment of Top Ten Tuesday, a fun weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s theme is top ten books that I’m looking forward to for the first half of 2017!

Here we go:

Queen of the Tearling by Ericka Johansen

I’ve heard such amazing things about this book (and the entire trilogy) from my book pals and I trust their recommendations so I’ll be so ready to read this once the new year rolls around!

A Court of Wings and Ruins by Sarah J Maas

Okay so I know I will be the ONLY person on the face of the Earth who did not love ACOMAF, but I enjoyed it enough to want to continue on with the series. Sarah J Maas is the QUEEN of cliffhangers and enthralling endings so even though I wasn’t totally hooked throughout the book, that ending made me NEED the next book ASAP!

Throne of Glass #6 by Sarah J Maas

This book doesn’t even have a title yet but I AM SO READY AND I NEED THIS BOOK NOW! SJM loveeeesss to torture us with cliffhangers and endings that make you NEED the next book in your hands immediately after finishing. This series is my heart and I can’t wait to see how it ends next year *weeps in the corner while thinking about her beloved series ending*

PS I Still Love You by Jenny Han

I read To All the Boy’s I’ve Loved Before, the predecessor of PS I Still Love You, last month and it was quite a cute read! I’m looking forward to seeing how the story continues for the main characters!

Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli

Here’s another book I’ve been told to read time and time again! I’ve been told it is so happy-making and who doesn’t need an uplifting book in their lives every now and then?

Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepeyts

Historical fiction that takes place during WWII? I am SO there. I haven’t read any historical fiction novels since I read All the Light We Cannot Sea in August 2015 and that book was AMAZING so I hope to love Salt to the Sea even a fraction as much as I loved that!

This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab

This book came in my Owlcrate back in July and I’d started reading it shortly after I got it, but I just wasn’t feeling it at the time. Now, after hearing such great reviews for it, I think I’m ready to give it another try and dive back in!

Cinder by Marissa Meyer

When I first heard about this series from a friend a few years ago, it didn’t sound appealing to me AT ALL. But now, I keep seeing this book all over bookstagram so I figure there’s got to be something to this book/series, right? Looking forward to seeing what all the fuss is about!

A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles

I’ve been stuck in a YA vortex this year and can’t seem to get out. Even the previous 8 books on this list are YA novels! But I came across this book in a Book Riot email I received recently and it sounds really interesting so I’m hoping to dip my toes in the adult fiction pool again with this one!

The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller

I am so ready to get my heart completely ripped out and trampled upon by this book. I haven’t had that happen with a book lately and I think it’s high time I get stuck on a bookish emotional rollercoaster!

So there we have it! Here are the books I’m looking forward to kicking off the new year with. What are your anticipated reads for early 2017? I’m always looking for new reads so share the love and comment below!

Peace out, bookworms ✌🏼

  1. Yay we’ll have to have a chat about the Tearling trilogy once we’ve read it ☺️ I’m glad you enjoyed Salt to the Sea and This Savage Song! I am sooooo excited to read both of those!

  2. Becca

OMG KALLI ALL OF THESE BOOKS!!!!! ❤ ❤ ❤ The Song of Achilles = *feels are dead. cry oceans. go back to read more.* You know my thoughts on TS 😉 And SALT TO THE SEA = YEEEESSSSSSSSSS. SOOO GOOD!!!! Also The Lunar Chronicles on audiobook is the best thing ever! The reader is so freakin' good. I had an ARC of the third book before it came out and COULDN'T READ IT BECAUSE I COULDN'T DO HER VOICES!! It was the saddest thing ever. Lol. Ok, this comment is getting ridiculous. I should stop now. (PS I Still Love You = buddy read?)
