August Wrap-Up

Hello friends! I cannot believe another month has come and gone. Where did August go?! What is this sorcery that stole this month from us?! Possibly the same sorcery that tricked me into buying a kindle last month and had me reading more ebooks than physical ones for an entire month. And the same sorcery that prevented me from dong this post at the end of the month🙃 Anywhoo, in August I actually read SEVEN WHOLE BOOKS *gives self a pat on the back* Granted, a couple of them were super short but that’s better than my usual three so I will continue to do my happy dance because YAY READING.

What I Read in August

A Boy Worth Knowing by Jennifer Cosgrove- This book was quite a cute LGBT YA read with a little bit of a paranormal aspect to it. I enjoy it quite a lot and it was a very quick read! (My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️)

Highly Illogical Behaviour by John Corey Whaley- This was another LBGT read (I’ve been on a kick lately after my friend @lovelybookishbelle made a list of cute LGBT reads!) and this book was super cute but it left me all WHERE IS THE ROMANCE and I’m still trying to get over that lack of ~lurrvee~ (My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️)

The Hating Game by Sally Thorne- I have SO MUCH LOVE for this book! It was hilarious (I legit laughed out loud throughout my read), adorable, and just a bucket load of fun! I recommend this to practically everyone because it’s fabulous! I still think about this book on the regular. (My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2)

When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandya Menon- *le sigh* this book was PAINFUL. And it had so much potential because it started off so cutely but took a turn for the worst in the middle. Oh and it took me an entire MONTH to finish because it was just that terrible. (My rating: ⭐️⭐️)

No Ordinary Star by M.C. Frank- DEAR LORD this book was GARBAGE. I’m sorry but this may have been the worst book I’ve ever read. I wrote a scathing review of it on Goodreads and one of these days I’ll post it hear because y’all need to know just how BAD this was! (My rating: ⭐️)

Kindred Spirit by Rainbow Rowell- I have no particular feelings about this short story. It wasn’t bad by any means but it didn’t really make me feel anything 🙃 (My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️)

9780349141138The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry Gabrielle Zevin- This book was okay, I don’t really have much to say about it *shrugs* I feel like it just tried to do too many things at once; it wanted to be a mystery, a romance, a contemporary and it just wasn’t working for me. (My rating:⭐️⭐️⭐️)

Bookstagram Updates

All candles featured are from Flick the Wick
Candles from Flick the Wick, Pocahontas print from Marquis du Soleil

Here’s some pics from my bookstagram! I just about DIED from the happiness! I love the prints and bookmarks from Marquis and it’s no secret I am low-key OBSESSED with FTW candles! I may or may not have an order on the way from them, as well as a candle box and my rep candles coming. I LOVE FTW CANDLES WITH ALL MY SMOL HEART AND SOUL!

Because I’m a rep for these lovely companies again, this means I get to share my discount codes with you all! For FTW, you can use KMBOOKS10 and for Marquis du Soleil, you can use KMBOOKS15.  Feel free to go forth and TREAT THYSELF 🙌🏽

How was your month? What books did you tackle and have you read any of my August reads? Tell me all about it, folks!

Until next time,
